VPA, NTCPWC signs MoU for vessel traffic management

Visakhapatnam: VIsakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) on Monday signed an MoU with National Technology Centre for Ports, Waterways and Coasts (NTCPWC), Chennai, for providing Vessel Traffic Management Systems (VTMS) Services.

Dr M Angamuthu, Chairperson of VPA and Dr D Kumaran Raju, Principal Scientist, NTCPWC signed the MoU. Briefing the occasion, the Chairperson informed that VTMS is an integral part of modern maritime transportation, where these systems provide a comprehensive solution for monitoring and controlling vessel traffic in the port area.

An amount of Rs 14.03 crore is being incurred by VPA for the services provided for a period of 10 years by VTCPWC from the date of agreement.
